The 4th of July: Herrmann Style :)

Each July 4th the Herrmanns host an awesome cookout with friends and family in North Carolina. Since Zach and I've moved to Iowa, I figured that we would miss out on the festivities this year. That is until Mom and Dad Herrmann decided to bring the party to us! We didn't really know what to expect. Would the weather hold up? Who would show up? Could we pull this party off with no house or electricity? Does Daddy Dave get an idea and follow through with it one hundred and ten percent?

  ..."You Betcha!"

With a magnificent view of the Mississippi River, shaded by a massive party tent and perfect warm breezy weather, delicious hamburgers and hotdogs (grilled by my hubby), a baby pool filled with iced beverages (thanks to our genius Momma), croquet, amazing potluck dishes, new friends, surprise guests, old friends, and family....we had a thoroughly fabulous Fourth of July!

Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with us!

While we enjoyed an amazing day off in celebration, it is important to remember those who have served and those who continue to serve our wonderful country. I cannot begin to comprehend the daily sacrifices that are made in order to preserve and protect.

Thank you.
