Forever a Witness | Northeast Iowa Wedding | JWebb Fine Art and Photography

May 19, 2018

Surrounded by their loved ones on a sunny Saturday afternoon, these two beautiful souls pledged to be a witness to each other's lives, through the good times and bad, for always.

With their theme "Forever a Witness," this fun-loving couple planned a vintage-inspired backyard wedding that was truly fit for royalty and overflowing with love!

When I said backyard wedding, I didn't mean just any backyard. As you can see, their backyard leads off into the wilderness alongside the Volga River. I honestly don’t think they could have picked a more beautiful venue!

Knowing they were getting married on the same day as Prince Harry and Megan Markle, the bride and groom thought it would be special to request all of their guests wear a fancy hat, headpiece, or fascinator to their NE Iowa backyard wedding. It was a fun and totally adorable idea! Not only did the hats spruce up everyone’s outfits, they made for amazing photos and will always be a reminder that they shared their special day with the Royal Family, too!

You could feel the happiness and joy radiate from their smiles.

Some of the bride's best friends and sisters helped decorate and make sure everything was in place for the guests' arrival. As the final touches were made to the reception decor, the bride and groom made their way to the entrance. They chose to see each other before the ceremony, which meant they could enjoy greeting the guests as they arrived.

I love how relaxed and fun the whole wedding day was and I think it shows just how comfortable and perfect these two are for each other!

The venue had a table covered in fancy hats, headpieces, and facinators that the guests could try on and wear for the event, so no one could say they didn't have a hat!  Although, many of the guests arrived in their own.

I LOVED this headpiece that the newlyweds' daughter-in-law
helped make for the big day!

There was delicious catering by Old School Catering, decadent cupcakes, and fantastic musicians that played live before, during, and after the ceremony.

Hand in hand, the Bride and Groom took joy in greeting their guests as they arrived!

I love all of the candid images I was able to capture as guests arrived, the smiles throughout the ceremony, the fun shared during the reception... all of those special moments on this very intimate day.
The groom's adorable grandson watched as the harp was played
and the ceremony was about to begin.

...and now they are officially Mr. & Mrs!

TIME TO PARTY!

The couple had a large white tent put up for the reception and a small tent for beverages, which came in handy when, as Pastor Hahn said, “the heavens thundered with approval.”

Forever a Witness

We need a witness to our lives.
There are a billion people on the planet.
What does one life really mean?
But in a marriage,
you are promising to care about everything,
the good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things.
All of it. All of the time.
Every day.

You’re saying, “Your life will not go unnoticed,
because I will notice it. Your life will not go unwitnessed,
because I will be your witness.”

I marry you today,
because I pledge to be a witness to your life
forever.

Cheers to finding your witness and for all of the adventures you'll share for years to come, the big, the small, the tough, and mundane... every day!

If I had to chose one word to describe this wedding, it would be JOYFUL. From the first time I met Cindy and Bob to consult them about wedding photography, to the very last photo taken on their wedding day, these two beamed with a love and joy that was radiant. May they always remember the happiness they felt on the day they said, “I will.” May they be forever joyful and forever a witness ….

I always take lots of candid images at all of my sessions and that's exactly what my bride and groom wanted on their wedding day. They wanted a gallery of images that documented the day and the people who came to celebrate with them.  We took just a few group shots of the family, then focused on the candid images as guests arrived. I love all of the candid images during the ceremony. Then we took a few minutes by the river for some relaxed posed images of the new Mr. and Mrs. before heading back for a reception filled with laughter, food, conversations, and dancing.

I was simply elated they chose me to document such a magical day and that I got to witness their promise and love first hand. I hope you've enjoyed these gorgeous details that I was so honored to document along the way!

CHEERS to LOVE!
